Craig Pecco, 5, is in charge of feeding all the livestock at the Pecco family farm in Morehead, Ky. "I like to take two trips with the hay, because one is really heavy to pull," he says.

Autumn Pecco, 34, and Craig Pecco, 5, make their way through the cornfield so Craig can climb into the combine to ride with his dad. The Pecco family has cattle, soybean, corn and tobacco farms throughout Kentucky on which all four members work in support of each other to maintain.

The Pecco family’s well-used footwear travels no farther in the home than the mudroom after long days of farm chores and playtime.

Preparing to have supper, the Peccos — Nathan, 40, Samantha, 9, Autumn, 34, and Craig, 5, — appreciate the time that they can spend together during a busy time of year for farming.

Autumn Pecco, who, along with her two young children, is in charge of taking care of all the livestock on the farm, spends the morning mending the broken fence areas before the cattle find their way out.

Samantha Pecco sprays her prize heifer with conditioner as part of the time-consuming process of prepping for an upcoming cattle show, which will be one of many in which the Pecco family participates throughout the year and nationwide. Samantha has become inseparable with the jacket she wears, which she was given earlier in the year for her winning prospect steer, eight-month-old Diesel, to whom she grew very attached before having to part ways.

Autumn Pecco checks soybeans for harvest readiness as she reminisces about her father giving her the dreaded chore of shoveling decomposed beans out of the grain bin as a child, "There isn't a worse smell than rotten soybeans."
